right after I ...
Get code going for the LV Chaallenge
Get my Active Object class tested
Fix the rain pipe that floods my bsmnt durring stroms
Get the emergency generator ordered
Replace the gutters torn off by the storm of 2010
Automate the water quality for the garden
while holding down a ful time job and entertaining a little Princess 3 times a week....
I'll sit down and write an Uber-Nugget composed mostly of Dennis quotes with a little theory thorn in. A well written Uber-Nugget on this topic is needed. But I may not get to this until after I retire so feel free to step up and preempt me if you like. ![]()

Hi Shane,
When writing Nugget like your USB Nuggets, we are a lot like Johnnie Apple seed, never knowing which one bear fruit and which ones do not.
Prior to reading your USB Nugget I was gun-shy when it comes to USB projects. After reading your Nuggets, I can't say that I am an expert (wow baby no-way!) but I am no longer afraid. So speaking for myself your USB Nuggets have cast away the concerns I had and enabled me to take on USB driver development (when management visits my cube with one of those "What do we know about...?" questions.
I suspect that your Nugget will become increasing useful as time goes on.
so THANK YOU again.
Ben

Thanks for the flowers Ben,
I think If I do another USB nugget then I need to cover the cases where the stuff is needed and where it is NOT needed right off the bat to try to intercept some of these (insert adjective here) questions.
Shane.

I'd hazard a guess that for every *@!&$ question there are an order of magnitude more people who sit in the silent majority quietly absorbing and benefitting.
Sadly you may never know just how many... Kudos may not be a true indication because of the large number of people who don't register or don't sign in.

My two "favorites" were this one where the user decided, for some reason, to wire his serial cable per some Google search instead of what the manual said and here where the USB 6009 was thought to be a serial converter.

I admit to being a grumpy old seeker of wisdom in these forums and I would like to apologize for being so. Mostly, when I feel I am being criticized, I get angry and respond in kind. I promise that from now on I will wait at least an hour or so to cool down before I respond and even then, I will remind myself to behave myself. I have been using LabVIEW since it first came out. My first LabVIEW job, was 20+ years ago, cleaning up engineer-generated spaghetti code. I am by no means a LabVIEW expert but I at least passed my CLAD without studying for it. These forums are and I hope they will continue to be a significant source of information and entertainment to me.
By the way. How come the spell checker doesn't recognize the word LabVIEW?
