Hardware failure at home.. :(

Isn't that the truth.  Once I get something thought I'm usually happy with it for a long time.  Sure I'd like to have the cutting edge stuff all the time, but who has time to learn something new everyday AND be productive.  Just not worth it...

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but I had a nice expensive video card bit the dust recently. There was a nice black mark on the PCB near the bottom of one of the caps but no visible bulge. I was curious if it was bad caps or just the inevitable failure of stressed equipment.

Can't say I didn't have it coming. I used that card to mine bitcoins for about 3-4 months straight during the winter. Warmed the room nicely and luckily I quit in the spring before the heat was annoying and the bitcoin market bombed. It's sacrifice was not in vain.

Now I just use it to collect dust and pass around classrooms to explain what an electrical engineer does. I need to find cool use for the sleek looking heat sink.

Software is never really finished, it's just an acceptable level of broken
