I think i ll be going for image processing with labVIEW. Already i ve done a project at DTRL, one of the labs at DRDO delhi, in my two months training!!!

Nice to hear that Somil. You made me remember 4 years back when i went to DRDL, Hyderabad for a defence project(RF related). Hmmmm government offices are pretty cool (neat) in all states except Tamilnadu.... Am i right Partha?

I agree only for the cases of Central Govt offices/institutes like DRDO & CSIR.

But all state govt offices are more or less the same.

Well Good that you have chosen image processing. I have been doing this for quiet some time now.

Actually, in our curriculum, we have three trainings. 1st one after 1st year. This one is provided in the college itself. It is known as the workshop training. And i suppose, this is the best time when only 1st year students are there in the college. No seniors and no ragging at all. Everyone feels likes a king. And working purely with the machines and tools and no books is like a dream come true. The workshops which we had were :

Sheet metal workshop

electrical/electronics workshop

welding shop

Fitting shop

carpentry shop

machine shop

Foundry shop

Black-smithy shop

Had a great time

2nd is after the 2nd year. This is for two months and the students can join some centre/ institute/research centre for learning some  basics of there respective trades

And the 3rd one is the 6 months training which we are undergoing currently. This is to get some experience of the corporate world as well as learn something advance.
