Congratulations for setting a new record and answering the question once and for all "Can the forum count up to 1000?".

Well can it?

Let's see.

Hmmmm....

Well, if a country can host more than 1,200,000,000 people speaking more than 1000 languages and following more than 100 diverse cultures with the highest concentration of diverse religions, that too without attacking any other nation (at least in the known history) for the sake of land grabbing and looting ........ then of course the (Indians) thread can accommodate more than a 1000 posts.

😉 😛

Hi Ben!

How are you Sir? 🙂

Hi Ben!

Excellent, but very busy with all of the adventures that life offers us when we become gradparrents. Let me share part of my recent adventures.

My wife left me home alone on the Forth of July. Unfortunately, she left something for me to find, unintentially of course. So two days latter I left town for a buisness trip and on my return, I was greated with some strange sounds in the house. Trouble shooting showed that my air conditioner had fialed while I was away due to the blower motor in the outside compressor going bad.

NOTE to others:

Running an extention cord arounf the side of your house and using a box fan to disapate teh heat, will work... for between 1 and 27 hours before they burn up themselves. I decided to shut off the air-conditioning instead of testing if that third fan would last longer. Smiley Mad

But then I started noticing a strange smell when I came into the house after work. I wrote it off as either that sink full of dishes I was ignoring.

So Saturday morning as three generations arrived at the lake to meet granma, I get a phone call from my buddy that happened to do with that thing my wife had left incomplete. What did she miss?

The door on our big freezer in the pantry!

So my first duty when returning from the trip was to deal with the bio-efluence and to authorize the purchase of a new freezer.

I had to wash my hands a half dozen times before I got rid of the smell.

But the adventure is not over!

Around here, our rats are four feet tall and have horns (deer) and are more than willing to help out the racoons with those tough jobs. So the wife and I are going to be challenged in getting the solid block of .... out of our house and into the garbage truck without it being processed by the local wild-life.

Looking back and forward I have to say, "Thank God for olfactory fatigue!".

A big compliment to have. Thanks. But there are other people who have made this forum shining.

Ben,

I would just say one thing, what I felt - it's a blessing to have such an adventurous (read "active" and "dynamic") life at your age. It makes you look and feel much younger than the other crowd, all the while having a privileged life of being "a grandparent" and the highest authority of the family. 🙂

Just one remark - I didn't know that in the Western culture, children (however old) still wait for their elders' permission to make decisions (like buying a refrigerator). This is actually a big pleasant surprise. Very well! 🙂

Respect for the elders in family is something which we, in India, think is missing in the West (read the US) - a general idea, not my personal belief.

Sorry if I misunderstood something.

First time I saw a big company(John Deere) asking specifically for "LABVIEW Engineers" in  opportunities column of Times Jobs (Yeah..In big column :))...Finally the HR's in India started recognizing LabVIEW out of  other GUI testing tools ? I had big trouble  changing my designation from "Senior Test Engineer" to "Senior Systems Engineer"  in my previous company.
