Interesting Stuff

Hi all,

If you have a chance, could you take a peek at this thread re:callers and callees in LV8?

Is this just the new behaviour of LV8?

I appreciate your help!

Ben

So, apparently SGI, who's behind OpenGL, which is the basis for Mesa, has gone bankrupt. Since LV uses Mesa to render its 3D graphics (to make the cross platform stuff easier), what will that mean for future LV versions? Is there any chance we'll start to see LV using hardware acceleration, so that graphics will start running at a normal speed?

Hi JLV,

That is an artifact of the old exchange.

A 3 out of 4 star rating re-scaled for a 1 to 5 star range converts to 3.75.

The obvious solution to this situation, of course, is for everybody who reads this to go to that thread and give me five stars.  🙂

I think you've all missed the point of the thread - it's supposed to point to and serve as repository for interesting LV stuff, not as a place for fun. The point is to have a single location people can go to to find the stuff and that's not being helped by creating white noise (yes, JLV, I mean you! Smiley Very Happy ).

Sorry about my previous abuse of this thread. Hopefully this posting will make up for it.

In this thread

http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=184616&jump=true

Rolf not only explains how to detemine if the network is un-plugged but also posted some code that dumps details about the available network adapters.

The first LAVA coding challenge is over - the winner is m3nth (an occasional contributor here as well) with a very impressive solution, with some nice programming tricks as well. Be sure to check the water intensity screen - the intensity graph really works out for that.

Apparently NI now has an official podcast area. Comments can be made here.
