We had an interesting afternoon at our office in Milton Ontario.
At about 12:55pm there was a loud bang from down the street from us. Loud enough that everyone wondered what it was.
Minutes later there were sirens, smoke, and we could see flames down the street. So of course a few of us had to go outside and have a look.
It was right after I came back in and sat down to more LabVIEW that I felt the building shake. We've got train tracks right behind us, so at first I thought it might have been a train. But then I noticed the way my monitor was rocking, and it never does that when a train goes by.
I was right at the point where I was seriously considering whether I should leave the building when it stopped.
Too bad I didn't have an accelerometer hooked up at the time. Although there's no doubt that at least one of my programs out in "the wild" picked up a bad load reading or two.

I was listening to the news and heard that a tornado hit a town north-west of Toronto and it sounded like Milton. It turned out to be a bit further north to the Georgian bay.
Exciting day indeed in Ontario. Must be because of the summit. Yeah.. Let's blame it on that 😉

No casualties or damage I hope. 5.5 would definetly would have had its affects if it had hit a crowded region!! Hope everything is fine

No casualties. A little bit of damage (not significant) with some buildings in the city (downtown).
Most of the damage was near the epicenter with a couple of bridges, some older buildings and a farmer's field which sank.
My friend was kidding around saying that 2012 is coming! LOL!!
Well, I do have to agree that the year 2012 is coming and will last 366 days. I wonder what year people will pick to panic next. 2025 maybe? 😉
