Couple more photos from this weekend's race.  Trackside's a much better place to see the action than from the stands. Smiley Wink

Since it is my thread devoted to "Randomness"

my Yahoo e-mail filter finally caught a spam in a dedicated folder.  Apparently "Delta airlines"  can submit unsolicited emails that will get trapped in a "NI" Folder.

Georgians be warned---- I am not thrilled!  (That never happened when I "Flew the friendly skies")

Holy moly! That's some air and you're upsidedown. I have to look hard to see that little bit of track below you. What was the stunt you did because it doesn't look like a normal flip, you'd be facing the opposite direction.

Your pictures don't show up for me.

Let's be clear here... If my sled's in a position like that, I grossly miscalculated something and will probably need professional medical assistance in short order. Smiley LOL

Rider's Willie Elam out of Idaho doing a backflip.  He took 7th in snowmobile freestyle at the X-games this year.

I was on the other side of the camera.

Some more restrictive filters could do that.  http://mule.smugmug.com/

Good chance to use that VPN server you have running on a computer at home. Smiley Wink

What a week. :yikes

Rode with four Wisconsin youth program (18-20) flatlanders who had never been in the mountains before.  That was fun, and involved a lot of digging stuck sleds.

They had fun and won't look at trail riding back home the same way ever again. Smiley LOL

Then out to Jackson Hole for the world championship hillclimbs... we had the best parking spot on the mountain.  Did a bunch of avalanche educatin' for people who were interested.

they gave me a media pass!! Smiley Wink  Onnamountain most of the week.

Dodging roost and runaway sleds... almost got run over by a snowbike... but got some good shots!

Keith Curtis #711, King of Kings again... unbelieveably fast rider.

I'll be busy for a while...

Pick up my truck from the shop tomorrow night, fix my sled (hit another tree... replace front bumper, then set it up for snocross) and get all my gear packed up for the race this weekend.

You do know that those trees can't see you coming or swiftly dodge to get out of your way don't you?

I think trees in Colorado have become smarter than that. They grab the machines and slam them against rocks.

They tend to jump out right in front of you as you're riding. Smiley Frustrated  I know it's not just me, as the guys I ride with have the same issues.

New bumper on in <1hour... i'm getting way too efficient at replacing these.

Two evenings in the garage to get 'er all set up for the track instead of the backcountry.

Driving ~6hrs south tonight, catch a few hours of sleep then riders meeting at 0700, snocross all day saturday, hillcross on sunday. Smiley Wink

One of my sponsors came through big time for me for this race, taking care of entry fees and putting a good dent into fuel expenses. Smiley Surprised

Now as long as I don't wad it up in lap 1 like i've been known to do, I should be okay... Smiley Very Happy

Ouch. Smiley Frustrated

Lap 2 of practice, a small step-down in a real tight corner... bounced me off my sled and into the snow.  This is why you wear the gear, kids...

That same step-down busted another guy's ankle in my class, and another rider in the sport class ate it hard in finals (sport and longtrack that I was racing in ran in the same heat for round 2 and finals).  Medics stayed busy in that corner.

Cased a big double and DNF'd Smiley Mad .  Probably would have had 2nd too.  My ankle's all sorts of funny colors right now and i'm not moving very fast.

Withdrew from hillcross sunday since I could hardly walk (fortunately I had a nice motorized scooter there Smiley Wink ), got talked into racing the flat drags... a little lower-impact than hill-x but still fun.  Didn't do too bad for a stock 800 when I could get the track to hook up, the ice was tough to get traction on.
