Well, I just had to jump in here. I've been a snow leopard fin for a long time. This is a portrait photo that I took of a snow leopard at the Calgary Zoo (where I volunteer).

I thought of using one of my favorite computer anims though:

It just doesn't look as good when shrunk down a bunch (though I have done it a few times).

In a previous life I was an on-site contractor for the U.S. Air Force.  I actually worked on the F-22 program, but the standard F-16 icon from the gallery is close enough...

Jumping in late, my avatar of a trilobyte is because I'm older than dirt! I actually was on the commitee that chose the name dirt, much shorter, if I remember, than the other choices, but as it was a long time ago I don't recall what the were.

My icon is a logo that can be found on several coverarts of Dream Theater, which is simply the best band in the world. This opinion may or may be not shared by non-musicians (At home I have to listen to them either in the hobby room or with headphones because my wife hates them...)Smiley Wink

I don't know if I would say DT was the *best* band in the world (in fact, I most probably would not Smiley Wink ), but they do have some very good music (gotta love the intro to "Scenes from a memory", as well as most of the rest of it Smiley Happy ).

P.S. For some other similar good stuff, although not directly related, try Ayreon. It's also at a Pink Floyd level.

Hi tst,

thanks for the link. Yes, Ayreon meets indeed my taste. Obviously this is a blend of lots of great bands and - hey - James La Brie (DT vocals) is one them Smiley Wink

Jochen

P. S. using superlatives ("the best") is always a good way to trigger good discussions Smiley Happy

Hi Jochen!
uhm.... I think they're a little bit too.... academic! At the end, music is not "hear what i can do with my keyboard!".  Yes, I like(d) Jordan Rudess.......Smiley Happy
