Possible to crack CLD exam in 2 months?

Hi everyone,

I have been using LabVIEW on and off for the past 2.5 years. The 1st year was MSc related and the latter is work related. (I'm based in the UK)

My only language is not LabVIEW at the work place, so its mostly general / easily do-able code for someone who knows their way around a LabVIEW environment and a language like C.

Yesterday my company decided to take me to GDevCon in September and I saw that certification is possible there. I was previously not too keen on this but now I am thinking why not. I also see a lot of people asking to take CLD directly instead of CLAD as it is no longer a pre-requisite.

Now my question is with 2 months of preparation, do you think I can crack CLD or should I try to crack CLAD? Or third option is to give more time to myself rather than pushing to the impossible.

Do ask me if you need any more info. Any guidance is appreciated. Cheers!

Well The Daily CLAD is always a good idea even if you are not intending to take the CLAD 😉.

You could try your skills against the CLD practice exams that can be found here.  You'll know yourself how well you did (and how close you are to the standard required), especially if you go for doing them under exam conditions.  If you post your solutions on ni.com there is always someone that will give feedback.  The difficult bit is determining which feedback is useful.

It doesn't seem unreasonable if you're willing to practice a bit. I'd recommend doing enough practice exams that you can finish in ~3 hours, since on the day of the exam you will be trying to understand the new requirements and the 4 hours goes fast.

I don't know how the GDevCon is scheduled, but if you have to miss a bunch of sessions to take the exam, I think I'd opt to go to the sessions.
