Hi Girogio,

Here are some pointers here in the Sprinkler CLD you did up.

The sequence of operation as stated in the requirements as follows, clicking the setup button during a run should immediately stop the controller and activate the zone control array. Your VI when I run on my computer did not fulfil this requirement, it just hangs and I am forced to stop execution immediately. You will lose points based for the functionality portion.

Next, your Sub VIs, noticed that your timer Sub VI, the error in error out terminal you did make plans for a no error case or when there is an error, there is lack of labels, you will lose points for the documentation portion. Also to note that your Sub VI, under VI Properties you are supposed to go under the documentation and document what the Sub VI is used for.. there is none in yours.. again you will lose points.

For your functionality parts, there are some faults in your sprinkler operation, when I vigorously tested your VI, it could not be stopped at times. Remember, there is a requirement that once the stop button is pressed, the VI must stop within 100ms... again you will lose points for it...

Hope this pointers help..

Thanks for your kind feedbacks.

Documentation and error plan in timer SubVI are almost obvious mistakes, I mean that I shouldn't have made them at all.

For the other error, I need to simulate my work.

Overall, I consider your feedbacks precious and I hope to make them a treasure for me.

Giorgio.

Hi all,

I am studying for the CLA Exam.

I would like to know whether the approach that I am following is correct and if I am doing what is expected for the CLA Exam or not.

I attach my solution for the Elevator Sample Exam. It took me 5h to complete. I used the Actor Framework approach with LabVIEW 2020 Community Edition.

Any opinion or suggestion is more than welcome and it would help me a lot.

Thank you!

Adriana.

I just looked over your solution briefly, but honestly it looks great to me. Really, really good job!

If this took you 5 hours, I guess the only thing you really need to work on is time. I noticed you implemented a lot and it's a nice touch that it's actually runnable, but you don't need to do that if you don't have the time on the real thing. The CLA isn't like the CLD where you fail automatically if the run button is broken. It's fine for you to implement less stuff.

Thank you!

Then I guess I will practice a bit more and try to implement even less, it is a bit tough for me as I am used to do the developer side too.

Hello All,

I am in the process of studying for my CLD. I've been using LabVIEW for about  year now since I was an undergrad and I recently got a job that recommends me  to take the CLD. And here I am!

So far, I've finished 2/4 of the sample exams. I just want to get a feedback on my Boiler solution to see what practices I am doing correctly and, most importantly, incorrectly. I would greatly appreciate the feedback. Thanks in advance.

I cant remember the requirements for the functionalitu but I see the following:

1. unnecesary bending wires
2. why do you have a 100 ms wait?
3. every constant should have a Label.

Hi Aldhair,

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I have a problem with "bendy" wires. I try to clean up as much as I can, though. The document I uploaded was the best clean up I could do within 4 hours. But I will work on improving on that and with labelling the constants. I need to practice more with putting comments as I go, too.

About the wait time of 100 ms, based on my understanding from the CLD success package and the sample exam instruction, the Wait (ms) is necessary to make sure the front panel responds to user events within 100 ms.
