Replication and Deployment Utility (RAD)

Hi Alisha,

bad news: now it seems that sometimes we receive an error on images without pw too.

The error is -2147220369 and we receive it sometimes using different images...we can't  understand if there's a reason, since the explanation found is:

The encryption passphrase when applying an image was not the same as when the image was created

Do you have any idea about the images with pw too?

Thank you so much for the help.

Have you changed the admin user name from the default "admin"?  Not sure if it is related, but we tried to use the web-interface to create and edit "user profiles" and the moment "admin" was no longer the actual admin user, strange stuff would start to happen.. Just an other red thread leading possibly to more herrings. . .

[edit] this was one or two versions ago, not sure if this has been fixed and/or improved on since then.[\edit]

As QFang states, RAD doesn't support user names other than admin, but I don't think this is the case here.

Although not consistently, I have reproduced the 2147220621 error you are seeing when deploying password protected images to targets without a password. Are you seeing this error near the beginning of image deployment or at the end? If you're seeing it at the end, have you checked to see if the image/password have been deployed correctly despite the error? What state is your target in after the error? Could you post a screenshot of the error in RAD?

I'm not sure why you're receiving the 2147220369 error if you're not using encryption passphrases. You might try recreating the image by formatting a target, reinstalling the software, and redeploying your app, then getting the system image over again. Perhaps the problem is something with your current image file.

Hi Alisha,

even if the the progress seems to be at 100%, the cRIO's CPU load rises to 100%, even if the cRIO from which the image was created works at 20%, so we're not shure if the image was correctly copied.

Do you know a way to be shure of the full copy of the image?

You can find attached the screenshot of the RAD.

Thank you so much.

Hi guys,

I am having a similar error as well. This is also having to do with the sbRIO.

I also have system configuration 5.6 installed with my installer.

I have tried this on a machine with the dev env and am able to pull an image.

I have tried it on a VM with a clean Windows 7 Image and am able to pull the cRIO image.

When I tried it on one of our assemblers machines it basically would give the error code below.

I believe it is the same problem, but the behavior has been eradic, so I'm not sure what to conclude.

Thanks,

Hi Massi,

Does the CPU load of the cRIO rise permanently to 100% or just at the end of deployment?

We do not provide a way to compare images to determine if they are exact duplicates. (there are 3rd party tools that will allow for file diffing)

Have you had the chance to try recreating the image from a newly formatted cRIO? If you'd like to provide the image that's causing you problems, I'd be happy to do some testing with it here.

Hi Monil,

I could be wrong, but this seems like a different issue to me since the error occurs while you are creating the image rather than while you are deploying the image. They could definitely be related but let's dig into a few things.

What version of System Configuration do you have installed on the assmber's machine?

Does it help you place the sbRIO in safe mode before attempting to create the image?

What software is installed on the sbRIO?

Did the three tests you mentioned (dev, Windows 7 VM, and assemblers) all occur with the same sbRIO when that sbRIO was in the same state?

I install System config 5.6 with the installer.

The same sbRIO was used but then I tried it with two others.

I modified the RAD to put it into safe mode first to remedy a previoius error I was getting, its been working fine since.

I believe it happened while pulling the image, but I'm not sure about deploying it. I may have seen it one time during deployment but never again.

I'm getting error code 2147220448 when trying to retrieve an application image. Anyone know why this would be? There is no password on this cRIO. I am running the executable version of RAD 5.5.2 and have System Configuration 5.6 installed on both the development machine and the target. The target is a cRIO-9025.

Just as a first pass, I would guess this to be a networking issue.

Are you able to communicate with and install software to this target in MAX? Is the target on the same subnet as your host computer?

You could try running the Get and Set Real-Time System Image.vi in the Example Finder. If you get this error when acquiring an image with that example, we can rule out RAD as the problem.
