BNC 2121 Frequency Selection

Hi! I'm using the BNC 2121 board with the PCI6602 card. I'm using the board's square function as my gate for my counting. How can I determine the frequency of my gate? The freqency selection switch and frequency adjust knob can only give me an approximate value. is there some vi or other software device to determine the exact freqency of my gate?

Thanks,
Katie

Katie,

The following Traditional NI-DAQ example can be used to measure frequency:

Examples >> Hardware Input and Output >> Traditional DAQ >> Counters >> NI-TIO >> Measure Frequency (NI-TIO).vi

Additionally, NI-DAQ 7.2 is now available for download in the following location:

NI-DAQ Version 7.2 for Windows 2000/NT/XP

NI-DAQ 7.2 includes NI-DAQmx support for the NI 6602. Thus, you also have the option to use the DAQ Assistant, or the following NI-DAQmx examples, to measure frequency:

Examples >> Hardware Input and Output >> DAQmx >> Counter Measurements >> Digital Frequency

Good luck with your application.
