Can the default PFI channel assignment be redefined?

  Hello everyone,

probably this topic was already discussed somewhere here in the board, but I haven't found the answer to my question.

I'm completely new to this whole NI stuff. I am involved in a project at my university, where I should build up a labor experiment, which will later be used for student practicum. For this experiment some counter/timer functionality is needed. We've bought the NI PCI 6221 card with the BNC-2100 connector block. This BNC has only the PFI0 coaxial input, the other PFIs are on the pins. Now, I made a task in the Measurement&Automation Explorer, which corresponds to the one of the measurements that should be done it the experiment. And it tells me, I should use the PFI8 channel, and I can't change it.

As said, only the PFI0 channel has a coaxial input, and it is preferrable, that I connect everything with coaxial cables. So my question is: Is there some possibility to "internally route" the PFI0 input to the PFI8 channel, or maybe somehow change the default channel for the tasks, I need.

Thanks in advance for your help!

P.S. I tried to import this Task to LabView, convert it to a block-scheme and to change the channel there. However, I couldn't find there any control that defines the input channel 😞 .

Ok, let me put it in a different way. Is there any BNC with coaxial connectors for PFI8 and PFI9 channels, which fits the PCI 6221 card?
