DAQ6602 not recognised by Labview

Ihave installed LABView and The DAQ-6602 couter/timer card, the device appears in the MAX, and the testpanel seems to indicate that it is working. However, I can not seem to use DAQmx Assitant to capture data from it. When it come to select chanels it says that I do not have any hardware that supports this measurement. Do I need to regesiter this hardware elsewhere in lab view. I am runing DAQ7 that came with LABView and there where not any newer drivers with the card.

The NI 660x counter devices are not yet supported by NI-DAQmx. Thus, the DAQmx Assistant cannot be used with your NI 6602. You will need to use Traditional NI-DAQ. These VIs are located in Functions >> NI Measurements >> Data Acquisition >> Counter >> Advanced Counter. Furthermore, I would suggest that you examine the example programs available in the following location:

Examples >> Hardware Input and Output >> Traditional DAQ >> Counters >> NI-TIO
