How can i read quadrature encoders using AT-MIO-16E-10 board ?

Hi there! I have AT-MIO-16E-10 board and i want to read a position using an incremental encoder.I suppose i can do that using one of the counters avalaible on the board.Question 1 : There is other way to do-it (except using one of the counters) ? Question 2 : I have a little problem here...the signal which comes from my transducer are not the classical ones A and B signals, they are conditionated by a circuit which give me the number of pulses and the direction of rotaion (0 for clocwise and 1 for anti-clocwise).So the signals are hardware processed. Can you give me a sugestion how can i read the position in this situation ? (with the signals processed) ? Any vi file will be very usefully.Thank you very much f
or reading this and i'll be waiting for your answer as soon as possible.

There is a well documented example of what you are trying to do at :

Don't be afraid because of the BNC-2120. It is just used in this example to simulate the pulses from a device. So it is not needed in your case. Obviously, you will need to change the number of increments/rev according to your encoder to get correct RPM values.
