How to Phase Lock 6221 and 5411

I think the proper options for  "Trigger Source (RTSI 5)" and "Trigger Source (Marker 0)" are "/DAQ::2/RTSI5" and "/DAQ::2/Marker0Event"

Those look correct. From that example, PXI_TRIG5 would correlate to RTSI5 for your case. The trigger source looks correct as well, and can be set to the proper trigger as you need it. You must simply ensure that the correct device names are translated to your current setup, as that is likely the biggest area of possible confusion.

But when I push the button "Browse...", there are only options for PCI-6111, but not PCI-5411. Or  just choose PCI-6111 RTSI5, and where can I find Marker0Event?

CCLee,

Two quick questions while I look in to this further.

A. What is the Operating System you are running on? (Window XP, 7, etc)?

B. Do you have a listing to select Device 2 (or Device 1) as it is reference in MAX? I see that you are still referencing DAQ::2, but the name on the device had changed when you reset.

Sorry for the late reply. I think maybe the problem comes from the 10 years old 5411. In NI example requirements, Fgen DAQmx synchronization.vi only support 5421, 5441, 5422, 5412 , but seems not 5411. I think there are some hardware difference between them. Maybe I need to ask NI Taiwan for help.

CCLee,

Sorry for the confusion with the example, but you are correct that that particular example does not support the legacy device 5411. The example requires that the FGEN device have the SMC chip, which was implemented in later hardware.  These examples wouldn't directly support this hardware setup. To get them synchronized, we would need to export a signal from the 5411 to use on the 6111, as the 5411 would require specific signals (as referenced in the NI-FGEN Documentation: Start>>Programs>>National Instruments>>NI-FGEN>>Documentation>>NI Signal Generators Help, and then Devices>>5411>>Phase-Locked Loops and Module Synchronization). Getting the 5411 and the 6111 completely synchronized won't be a trivial issue, and would require routing the signals in LabVIEW. I'm not aware of any specific examples for this, but I'll continue to look on my end.

If you are going to be working through NI Taiwan on the issue, please focus on that end of things for the time being and keep us updated here as to the progress of the issue. Thanks.
