Install counter palette update

I'm not able to install the counter palette update, while trying this I'm getting an ERROR:

You do not have NI-DAQ installed on your
computer. Please install NI-DAQ before
running this installation. This update only
works with NI-DAQ version 6.8.1 through 6.9.1

And I've installed NI-DAQ 7.1, what goes wrong?

Do you have the last version of the installer ?

It should work with NI-DAQ 7.1 but for sure it won't with the latest NI-DAQ 7.2. I have already called NI about this but I'm afraid this is not their first priority.

If the installation fails, one solution is to copy the needed vis out of the llb to your working directory. At least, this allows you to continue your work.

I've downloaded the update from that site allready, yesterday. I've installed NI-DAQ 7.2. but I've also tried it before I've installed NI-DAQ 7.2.
Maybe the problem is that my hardware card is a 6602?

Because I have been using NI-DAQ 7.2 for several weeks I'm not sure to 100%, but I think it was OK with 7.1.

I don't believe that this has something to do with the hardware. In my opinion, the installer only checks the version of NI-DAQ.

Anyway, this improved counter palette is not part of NI-DAQ and therefore the next upgrade will probably erase the palette like 7.1 and 7.2 did. So the best is to extract the needed vis to the directory of your project.

OK, but where can I find these VI's?

Unzip Counter_Palettes_Upgrade.zip. The VIS are in Install_Ctr_Palette_Upgrade.llb.

At least 2 options to access to the VIS inside the LLB:

1) Configure LV7.x to open a LLB with the Windows Explorer.
LV menu --> Tools --> Options... --> New and Changed in 7.x --> Enable Windows Explorer for LLB files.

2) Convert the LLB to a directory.
LV menu --> Tools --> VI Library Manager

Good news ! The installer for the counter palette has been fixed up to NI-DAQ 7.2.

I have just installed it without any problem.
