No 5V output from NI 6602 Card

I’m using a NI 6602 Card connected to my rig through an SBC-68 connection box.  I don’t seem to have a 5V output at the box.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks

Hi

What software are you using to program your device? Firstly does your device appear in Measurement and Automation Explorer ok? This is the place to start troubleshooting all your hardware. In the Configuration tab in MAX loacte the locate the card (My System >> Devices and Interfaces >> NI DAQmx Devices) and run a self test. Does it pass? If so load the Test Panels, go to the Digital I/O tab, select the lines you want to test and set them to be outputs. Then hit the start button an change the state of the line/lines by using the controls in in  the bottom half of the test panel. Do you see the state of the lines change between 0V and 5V. Let me know how this goes.

Dear Rich

Thanks for your e-mail, to answer your questions...

What software are you using to program your device? - LabVIEW 8.2

Firstly does your device appear in Measurement and Automation Explorer ok? - Yes, I have used the “self-test” in Measurement & Automation Explorer and it says that it has passed.

If so load the Test Panels, go to the Digital I/O tab, select the lines you want to test and set them to be outputs. - I loaded the test panel but it does not seem to have the same number of lines as the 6602 has outputs.  I’m using the Pine 1 +5V and Pin 35 as ground.

Then hit the start button an change the state of the line/lines by using the controls in the bottom half of the test panel. Do you see the state of the lines change between 0V and 5V. Let me know how this goes. - I selected line 1and pushed start, but nothing seems to happen.

Best wishes

Robert
