No counters available in PXI6602 Error --- Help

I recently downgraded my DAQmx version from 8.6 to 8.3. Now NI- MAX says that there are no counters available in my 6602 device.When I open test panels from MAX I get an error message saying that

no counters are available in this slot !!.It allows me to check digital I/O only.

The PXI 6602 device is also listed as a traditional DAQ device. If I open a test panel from there I can generate pulses. But it gives me only 2 counters (GPCTR0 and 1).The PXI6602 has 8 counters.

I am using a PXI 8175 controller on a PXI 1001 chasis. I have 3 cards - 6025E multifuction DAQ,5152 digitiser. and a 6602 timing I/O card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

Hey jj@IIT,

I was able to find a reported bug that is similar to the error you are receiving. It seems to occur when you change versions of DAQmx on your machine. So far there is no solution, but the error does not occur on clean machines (machines that have never had DAQmx installed on them before). So one tedious, but working solution would be to reformat your machine and do a fresh install of DAQmx 8.3.

Is there a particular reason you needed to downgrade to DAQmx 8.3? I would highly recommend using the latest version. Reinstalling 8.6 should clear up the error as well.
