SCC-2345 TTL and Thermocouple inputs?

Using a PCMCIA 6062 E series coupled with the SCC-2345 chassis, can I use an Feed Through (FT-01) module in the counter slot to input a TTL signal for continuous Frequency measurement. ALso, can I use the FT-01 in the analog input for a thermocouple?

Do i need to wire any jumpers? Or is this just plug and play. I have little success with the FT-01 in the counter slot. Wiring the signal directly into the #37 screw terminal gets me something though....

THANKS for your HELP for my SENIOR ENGINEERING PROJECT!

Hello,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments.

You can build GPCTR circuitry onto the SCC-FT01 feedthrough module.
Plug the custom GPCTR SCC module into socket J19 or J20 of the
SC-2345. Socket J19 connects to E Series GPCTR channel 0. Socket J20
connects to E Series GPCTR channel 1. There are no jumpers that you need to set.

However, if you do not need to condition your signal with any type of circuitry, then you should just connect to the screw terminals inside the SC-2345 enclosure. You had mentioned that you connected your signal to pin #37, do not forget your ground of your TTL signal to any of DGND connections which make up row B of the screw terminals.

Also, ensure that you are making the correct connection for your frequency measurem
ent. If you are using a single counter and then taking the inverse of a period measurement, then you will need to connect to the gate of the counter which would be screw terminal #2 for counter 0.
