com port issue on mac os 10 x

hi there, I amm trying to connect a bicycle computer (ibike) onto an imac run ning mac os 10 x.  I am getting an error message "ibike needs to use a com port in the range of 1-64". I have the latest drivers installed.   has anyone had a similar experience ??  Any thoughts greatly appreciated 🙂

What does this have to do with Counter/Timers or NI products?  How does the device communicate with your Mac?

"com port" is terminology more often seen on Windows computers?
