how to set up a edge counter on a 6221 daq

I am doing a pid fan speed project for college and have lutron anemometer vane. I'm getting a pulse train from the anemometer vane but can't count the pulses. I've tried setting it up on the daq assistant and tried the sample counters in labview with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

As an extra bit of advice, the forums tend to ignore students that are just looking for people to do it for them. If you are after help they are happy to give it but ask you have at least attempted it your self first. Posting your code generally demonstrates this willing.
