problems with "count event and time Vi"

I am using PCI 6025E card and a SCB 100 connector block for my application. I used count events and time vi in order to count the TTL pulses generated from the shaft encoder. I connected the channel from the shaft encoder to the counter terminal of the count events and time vi to get the count. But when ever I run my program, I get an NI 10001 CTR config error, saying that the ordering of the input string is not as expected. I have configured the counter on the vi and am still getting the error. Can't I wire the channel to the counter terminal of the VI?? If not, How can I count the pulses from the shaft encoder??

Maruthi,

You should specify the actual counter number for the "counter" input (0 or 1) to Count Events or Time.vi. It appears that you are trying to use a virtual channel, but virtual channels are not supported with counters in Traditional NI-DAQ.

Good luck with your application.
