Hi guys,
I have DASYlab 10 and was trying to set up email in one of our programs.
I downloaded thunderbird like the help says to but I get stuck after that.
I have a switch hooked up to an action module to activated the email module, but how do I link dasylab to thunderbird?
It wants to use outlook. Am I missing a setting or a driver to make them work properly?
Thanks,
Chris

Hello Chris,
(1) I have today installed the current Mozilla Thunderbird Release v 3.1.2. I detect that ThunderBird installer don't create any MAPI profile under Microsoft Exchange Server MAPISVC.INF configuration file.
(2) The MAPI interface need an useful profil under (1). Otherwise is any usage not possible for this interface. See, sorry found only in german, more under http://www.msxfaq.de/clients/profile.htm
(3) I have not yet found any informations how to generate a Thunderbird profile under (1). This is not a problem from DASYLab itself. DASYLab can only use E-Mail clients for MAPI which have generate profiles under (1)
Best regards,

DASYLab V11 Send Email gets around this by having its own email client, and bypassed the MAPI client on the operating system. We have had too many problems as Windows as increased security.

I have been very pleased with using Outlook (my company's default and they won't let us use anything else). The trick is a little freeware program called "Express Click Yes" from the following website:
http://www.contextmagic.com/express-clickyes/
This allows me to run tests unattended but then have an event or condition trigger an action module to send me an email.
