IXXAT-CAN Bus Logger

Dear Reader,

We are currently evaluating DasyLab 11 in combination with a IXXAT USB-to-CAN compact. Attached to this controller is the Elmo TRIO-WHI motion controller. The Composer software of Elmo is already opened and communicating over CAN. I try to log the communication between the controller and the adapter using the IXXAT-CAN Bus Logger. But when i try to start the logging i get the following error:

No channels (ports) available. 

I configured the bit rate at a speed of 500kbps. Which should be fine, because it's the speed i configured the Elmo to use. I'd like to find out how to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

- you should use the Ixxat VCI-V3 API under DASYLab 11.x

- you should connect / open an Ixxat CAN interface with included CAN ports only with one software - use the logger OR DASYLab but not both togehter

The problem is that the software from elmomc is vci-v2 based. VCI-v2 is supported under dasylab, so that should work. IXXAT support told me that i can't monitor using DASYlab or CANanalyser because some appliation block the CAN channels. Thanks for your answer!

The combinations

- elmomc VCI-V2 based + DASYLab VCI-V2 based
- elmomc VCI-V2 based + DASYLab VCI-V3 based

,both possible, block the CAN channel handling. You can't open an CAN port handle from several software to same CAN port. And DASYLab open all CAN ports with start from program, if you use this CAN port into an worksheet or not.
