Reviewing data

I am looking at the purchase of Dasy Lab Basic and have been playing with the demo version.

Having come from another data acquisition piece of hardware/software, one of the things I frequently do is review historical data.  The previous application (Wonderware) I had used would create data files and all I would do is specify the date and it would grab the appropriate daily generated files, and then pull the time window I specified.  If I then wanted to export the data from that time window, I could save it out as a CSV file.

Is there something similar that can be done with Dasy Lab that includes reviewing the data?  The only thing I have seen thus far is exporting the data as the file is being written and then importing the data into another application such as Excel.

DASYLab's focus has always been online data and analysis.

Having said that, there is a Read module that can be configured to read data, and, once it's read, to display, analyse, segment, and store the data.

It's not that hard to create a DASYLab Full application to configure a Switch /Action combination to allow the user to select a file for replay. DASYLab Basic does not have the Action module, so, you would need to manually stop the application, change the file name, and restart. You can do that semi-automatically by using Global Strings and the "Enter String at Start of Program" setting. The Filename can be specified as a global string.
