Time base settings for DASYLAB and Drivers!

Hi,everyone!

I am very confused about the time base settings for DASYlab, there are DASYlab items and Driver items,so there two kinds of sample rate and blocks? But when a program start executing, which sample rate and blocks be chosen?

Thank you very much!

What hardware are you using for your data acquisition?

The driver timebase is specifically for the device installed using the old driver interface, including IOtech, Sound Card, Demo, and others. If you are using a device that is configured in the Measurement/Hardware Setup/Driver.... Settings, then simply use the Driver timebase.

If you are using other hardware that is installed using the "Extension" interface, and your hardware has its own entry in the Measurement/Hardware Setup menu, including NI-DAQmx, MCC-DAQ, MCC-DRV, instruNet, and many others, then each device will have its own timebase, which should be configured for the device.

For example, using NI-DAQmx, you configure your task for a sample rate and number of samples. DASYLab uses this task information for the time base.

If you are using Measurement Computing, MCC-DRV, then you configure the time base in the Analog Input module. The time base is accessible from other modules that require the time base, such as the Switch, Slider or Generator.

Without knowing more about your hardware, I don't know if this is much help.

Thank you very much

I just use DASYlab right now,so not familiar for many basic knowledge ,as you said ,some hardware use old driver for time base setting ,and some hardware use DASYlab for time base setting. In my work ,I usually use the PCMCIA card to collect data ,and i guess this hardware should belong one of "NI-DAQmx, MCC-DAQ, MCC-DRV".

by the way ,where can i get a guide introduction for DASYlab, better for basic knowledge Smiley Tongue

It really matters what the manufacturer of your card is.... many companies made PCMCIA cards, although most are discontinued now.

There is a tutorial in the online help.

This discontinued device used the DRIVER interface of DASYLab, so, the only timebase you should be using is the DRIVER.

If you have any other timebase, other than the DASYLab software paced timebase, then you can simply ignore them.

Modules that use timebases default to DRIVER, so everything should work smoothly.

Use the Measurement menu, Measurement, Driver setup. There is a shortcut key on the Function bar, the one that has A/D on it.
