average FFT dasylab 9.0

Hi Everyone,

I need to be able to average the output of an FFT display in dasylab 9.0. Ideally We would like to have an overall average (current output is in mm/s) so for a certain point on a machine we can get a single figure to work with not the entire spectrum. Another useful output we would like is one that averages the output of the FFT spectrum ie the average of the last five seconds and display that (updates once every five seconds averageing the output over that time

Use the Block Average module to average the output of the FFT module. It averages successive blocks, doing the average for each frequency line. The output block is an FFT block, where each line is the average of the same line in the input blocks.
