Solved!

Hallo!

How can I change the standard saving path on a PC where only the runtime version is installed?

Thanks and have a nice day

You have to find the correct DASYLab.INI file (the one in Documents and Settings, or the Windows 7/Vista User folder).

Edit the file. Make sure that DASYLab is closed.

Find this section

[Directories]
mcc=1
Flowchart=C:\Users\Public\Documents\DASYLab\12.0.0\eng\worksheets
Disk Streaming=C:\Users\Public\Documents\DASYLab\12.0.0\eng\data
Save Data=C:\Users\Public\Documents\DASYLab\12.0.0\eng\data
Device Configuration=C:\Users\Public\Documents\DASYLab\12.0.0\eng\devices
Additional Configuration=C:\Users\Public\Documents\DASYLab\12.0.0\eng\other
BlackBoxes=C:\Users\Public\Documents\DASYLab\12.0.0\eng\blackbox

And edit the appropriate line.

Hallo cj!

First of all: The OS on the system with the runtime version is Win XP, the system with the full version is Win 7.

I looked into the ini file on the XP system, but i did not found the directories part. Then I looked into the ini file of the full version, there was the directories part with my changes in it.

It looked like:

[Directories]
Flowchart=C:\Users\Public\Documents\DASYLab\12.0.0\ger\worksheets
Disk Streaming=C:\Users\Public\Documents\DASYLab\12.0.0\ger\data
Save Data=C:\Data_Save
Device Configuration=C:\Users\Public\Documents\DASYLab\12.0.0\ger\devices
Additional Configuration=C:\Users\Public\Documents\DASYLab\12.0.0\ger\other
BlackBoxes=C:\Users\Public\Documents\DASYLab\12.0.0\ger\blackbox

Then I copied the text into the ini file on the XP system with the runtime version and changed the pathes as necessary. That had no effect.

What is wrong with the ini file?

Hope you can help me.

Best regards,

Hilby

What version of DASYLab are you using?

Have you run the DASYLab Runtime? Some of the INI file settings are not created until you run it.

In the DASYLab Program Files folder (C:\Program Files or C:\Programme), look in the DASYLab folder for a file called AUP. That will tell you where the INI file is....

Hallo cj!

I am using Dasylab V 12.0 on both machines, one system with Dasylab runtime only and one system with Dasylab Full.

I have run dasylab on both machines, and on the full version I tried the runtime mode, too.

The AUP file in the Program Files folder tells me the correct path for the ini, but I still  cannot change the standard saving path, because there was no directories entry, and inserting the directories entry does not have an effect.

That is a big problem for me, because I have installed the runtime version on the measuring system and I am programming on my office PC. But I still need this standard path because otherwise I have to change my hole program.

Greetings

Hmmm... a mystery.

Do you want to contact your local reseller? Are you in Germany?

Hallo CJ!

I do not exactly know what a reseller is. What do you mean with reseller? I need some kind of support. The problem is that I do not have much time to solve this problem, the measuring system must work on 6th of November.

I am a student and this is one of my projects and yes I am in Germany.

Have a nice day!

"Reseller" is the company that sold you the DASYLab.

In Germany, we have several companies who sell the software.

There is a German language forum at http://www.dasylab-forum.de/forum/index.php?act=home

Our primary reseller in Germany is MeasX GmbH & Co. Kg., in Moenchengladbach, at www.measx.com.

If you submit a question via www.dasylab.com, it is routed to the support group at MeasX.

I think that you need more direct 1-1 support to determine the problem - clearly it is specific to how the DASYLab Runtime was installed.

Do you think I can contact MeasX directly with their contact formular?

Hilby

*edit: Reason is that I do not realy know where we bought dasylab.

Certainly. One way or the other, your license was probably purchased from them or one of their distributors.
