will dasylab 9 and iotech pdaq56 read a current input or just voltage and TC

I have Dasylab 9 with iotech pdaq 56 input ranges only seem to be V, mV and TC is there not a way to input mA?

Not directly. If you add a resistor to the circuit, then V=IR will allow you to read V from I.

Please review the specifications for the device

yeah i was just browsing the website.  I bought an analyzer and requested the output changed from mA to V but the memo got lost somewhere in transit.  what kind of resistor would i need to add and where?

DASYLab should read 1-5 volts for a 4-20mA signal – when using a 250 ohm resistor

Then use the Scaling module to scale  1V to your zero value (4ma) of the sensor, and 5 V = max value (20ma) of the sensor.
