XLR8: Close Workbook inputs

Hi,

I just started to use XLR8 and one question rises:

Why is the "Save (F)" input of CloseWorkbook set to required?

Or to put it the other way around: why does it have a default value when you need to wire it anyway?

Best regards,
GerdW

Hi GerdW,

the "save (F)" Boolean control is to ensure that the user thought about wheter he wants to save the Workbook or not! In some cases (for example after many copies with "save workbook" or many new workbooks with "create workbook") it is good to reensure the purpose of the user.

Hi Hajo,

thanks for your answer, even when I don't like it…

Next question:

Is it possible to have a "Path" output from CloseWorkbook - similar to the standard LabVIEW CloseFile function?

It would help to create more "cleaned up" block diagrams…

Best regards,
GerdW

Hi Gerd,

sorry to hear that!

thanks for this hint!

Yes it is possible to add the workbook path output to the "CloseWorkbook" function.

Your argument about a more "cleaned up" block diagram is plausible.

We will add this to our feature list and discuss it internaly.

Greetings,

Hajo
