Best structure for data warehouse to use with DIAdem?

I am looking to create a data warehouse but am unsure of what architecture to use, MySQL, MSSQL, etc.  What is the best database to be using that will work efficiently with DIAdem?

DIAdem will work with connecting to all of these databases (MySQL, Access, SQL Server, etc) as well as many different file types. What specific information are you looking for? Fastest loading time? Easy of use? Searchability?

I am looking to create a data warehouse for pattern recognition to improve efficiency for maintenance repairs.  There will be a great amount of data.  I see that DIAdem works with several databases, I guess I am asking which one you recommend.  I am familiar most with MySQL, however I think our organization is also considering SQL Server.

Really its completely open for whichever you prefer. If your company is going to use SQL Server and you need to go that way, it should be just the same as MySQL. However, if you are more familiar with MySQL, then you could use that and should have the same type of results. Either works and in my opinion, no particular database works better than another, other than personal preference.

Your description of what you want to do is fairly brief, so I don't know if this suggestion is helpful.

You may want to look at the possibilities of the DataFinder.  If your data is first saved in files, just letting them be indexed can be much easier than trying to maintain your own database.  You can also query the data very easily in a DataFinder.  You could start out with the DataFinder which is installed with DIAdem (starting with version 10).  The DataFinder desktop edition allows two client connections if you turn remote access on, so if you want to access your data from multiple clients you'll need a DataFinder server edition before you're done.

There are use cases that an SQL server is made for that the DataFinder doesn't cover, so your mileage may vary, but this could save you the effort of administrating an SQL database, and make it easier for your users to add their data into your processes.
