Capabilities of GPS mapping in diadem??

Hi, I'm trying to visualize GPS tracks in Diadem.  I have advanced, but was able to get a free trial of pro.  All I can seem to do is just overlay GPS tracks over a map.

But what I really want to do is to be able visualize the differences in speed as they round corners.  Also, to be able to perhaps click on any point on the gps track and get a timestamp.

Can diadem do any of this?  Attached is a sample nmea log which imports fine using the dataplugin for NMEA.

I figured out the color visualization using the REPORT tab and using the color pallette button.  Have to select one of the last 3 options in the COLOR ASSIGNMENT drop down and choose the color channel as SPEED.

But I'm still having an issue trying to easily pluck out the time stamp from each position on the GPS path?

Hi Neseth,

DIAdem REPORT can only overlay the GPS details on the surface of a 2D or 3D graph, though it can scale as you change the axis ranges rather nicely.

It sounds like you want to use the video synchronization features in DIAdem VIEW, though.  I believe the Advanced version gives you the ability to configure a VIEW layout that replays the video as well as showing channel values on a graph, such as speed or elevation, etc.

Hi Neseth,

If you're looking at the GPS data in VIEW, you can change the cursor to the "Curve Cursor" and then open up the "Coordinates" dialog.  If you're already plotting vs. datetime on the X axis, then the current cursor position will show its datetime in the "Coordinates" dialog.  Alternatively, you can add the "CursorX" display to the graph legend to see the instantaneous X value (datetime, hopefullY) in the graph legend.
