DIAdem views are slow to load with windows 10 creators update

Hi Steve,

We are seeing similar issues at our organization. I have made a support request with NI and they have escalated the issue to R&D. Hopefully we will find out something in the next few days.

Hello NeedDIAdemHelp,

in the VIEW layout you provided I saw some videos. Please can you delete this videos from the layout and test it again.

Background: Microsoft removed some vidoe codex from the OS.

Greetings

Walter

Thanks for your comment about Videos in the View template.  I had incidentally deleted the Video from the template file for another reason, so I tried to reload that .tdv today, and it loaded in about 5 seconds.  So it would seem your recommendation is correct.

I am still checking the other slow response items - band zoom, pan, etc.

Thanks again.

Hi Steve,

R&D's current hypothesis is that Windows 10 version 1709 no longer installs a video codec you may be using to display your videos in VIEW.  If you use a VIEW layout with just a 2D graph in it, do the performance problems disappear?  If this is the issue, you should be able to manually install the video codecs you need, even if Windows has stopped doing it for you.

The DIADem 2017 slow down with Windows 10 Fall Creators edition is not resolved by removing any Videos from a TDV.  Although a video in a TDV will make it extremely slow (6 minute load time from Navigator to View), if a TDV is loaded, then most everything is slow, particularly in Navigator.  10 second delays to select a test for example.
