DataFinder 2017 not indexing all files

I have been using the DataFinder tool for years and recently upgraded to a new PC and moved to from DataFinder 2015 to 2017.  The problem I am having is that the DataFinder tool never seems to complete the indexing process, the icon on the system tray has a red bar on the bottom and the latest files are not found via a custom query.  Attached are a couple images of the DataFinder settings and the task tray icon with the red bar for the DataFinder.

The indexing may be experiencing a timeout.  Change the index timeout to a longer value (my experience is the default is too short).

Hi Siriusly,

 

I agree with Mark.  I routinely turn that indexing timeout of 5s into 50s per file.  That's overkill, but I rarely run across a data file that causes the indexing to blunder into an infinite loop.  Of course, the key there is to build exclusion conditions into your custom DataPlugins.

 

The red bar at the bottom of the DataFinder icon in the system tray is used to denote the "My DataFinder" that ships with DIAdem.  If you ever see the DataFinder icon with a blue bar underneath, then that is the DataFinder Server.  Actually, the "bar" here is supposed to be a conveyor belt that the yellow DataFinder cog operates on.
