Dataplugins-cant edit my own dataplugin

Hi, i creted dataplugin to load xls files. the xls file changed its structure, i need to update the dataplugin. But i cant, please ask the guy who created the encryption of plugins how i can do it.

Got my .uri file, i restarted computer to start from scratch, opened dialog with plugins and manually clicked "Import dataplugin", and it should load as "VBS" but nope, it loads it as VBCrypt. i tried lot of time and i dont feel good about it as im in trap now, cause i cant even open the uri file to see the code to create some duplicate, cause its really encrypted and i cant get the vbs code. For me its useless and i dont see the point  of crypting the files when i cant decrypt it, im missing something?

I need to finish my task and im blocked by this "feature".

few years ago, i was able to import it and edit it. not now anymore.

Is it possible i will send you the .uri file and your specialists will send me the code of the plugin?? im stacked now and dont know what to do, as i dont know whats in the dataplugin...

i found the original version of plugin and imported it and now i can edit it.

But if i would not find it, how can i get the source code, when the import feature doesnt work for me?

Hello Lukas_Doubek,

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover the VBScript source code when saved with encryption.

Often the unencrypted vbs script is still on the machine where it was developed.
You can find the DataPlugins folder here:
C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\Shared\USI\Plugins\DataPlugins\<DataPlugin name>

Hello, few years ago, it was not encrypted. this feature just brought chaos to our system.

i think GOOD solution would be let user decide if he wants to encryp the dataplugin or not, and for encrypted it could be different extension then .uri, for example .ure and everyone would be happy.

we are getting new computers by some time and so we have to take care of this original file. its just a small scripts telling how to load data, with no classified data inside...
