Diadem 11 PDF Export Windows 7

Hi all. I've recently upgraded to Windows 7. I have installed Diadem as a part of my NI developer suite. The report pane file menu does not give me the option to PDF Export. It is greyed out and disabled.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanx.

Hello punkmonkey,

The PDF Export does not work with Windows 7 yet. It's a known issue that will be addressed in a service pack as soon as the DIAdem R&D team has a solution. I don't want to go into too many details, but this is not something our R&D team is very happy about - they are doing all they can to get this issue resolved.

Please note that the fix will require DIAdem 11.1 to be installed, I am pretty sure that we won't provide a solution for DIAdem 11.0 (or even older versions) users in Windows 7 (Windows 7 was released after DIAdem 11.1, and way after DIAdem 11).

I have the same issue on my new laptop: Windows 7 and DIAdem 11.1 and no PDF export functionality.

We will inform the forum when the fix is available. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience.

Just in case someone stumbles upon this thread, I wanted to provide a link to the DIAdem Service Pack (SP1) that fixes the PDF output issue and other known issues in DIAdem 11.1:

I clicked on the link and began the SP1 installation process but it stalled and gave me an error that says, " The program can't start because DIAdata.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I've searched the installation CD but can't find the .dll on there---can I find this .dll somewhere else? I appreciate any help

Actually, the .dll is on the pc and located at C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\DIAdem 11.1. Any ideas why this error is generated?

Hi Lab Guy,

Otmar posted a few specialized instructions here.  Could you try following them and let us know if you still have trouble?

Ok, I followed Otmar's instructions, but now a different error is generated after I right-click on the ZIP and run as administrator. At the beginning of the unzipping process, there is an error from WinZip Self-Extractor that reads, "Can't create output file: .\cdintf.dll"

It appears that the Unzip to folder, ".\" , is not valid. However, I cannot seem to change the destination folder. Any thoughts? I've enclose a screenshot as well.

Hi Lab Guy,

I tried the DIAdem 11.1 SP1 executable on my Windows 7 computer, and it worked great, so I don't think the problem is the ".\" dos folder syntax.  I don't understand how you would have permission to add the *.exe file to the DIAdem 11.1 directory and yet not have permission to add the CDIntf.dll file to that directory.  Why don't you try this-- move the *.exe to a new subfolder underneath your "My Documents" folder and run it to extract all the files.  Then manually copy all those files into the DIAdem 11.1 folder (that's all the *.exe is doing, really).  You'll need Administrative permission for the file copy, so if at that point it fails you can ask your IT friends to help you copy files.

Hope that helps,

Success at last! I extracted the files in a different folder and then moved them back into the Diadem 11.1 root folder, then ran the setup as normal. Kind of a round about way, but it worked and I'm up and running here! Thanks for your help everyone, I appreciate it.
