Hi all. Just trying out DIAdem for the first time, and having issues with the examples. They won't fire up for me. From DIAdem I go Help->Examples which opens up the Example finder. From here I can select one of the examples. So far so good, but when I click on 'Start example' I get a VBScript window pop-up saying 'An error has occurred while executing the example'. This seems to happen for all examples (I have tried half a dozen).
I am running DIAdem 11.3, installed from the Developer Suite 2011 DVD. No updates are available, so I guess it's up to date. OS is Windows 7 home premium, SP1.
Any ideas?

Chris,
Do you have any Virus Checker or Security Software installed that might prevent the DIAdem Visual Basic Scripts from running?
This is the only thing I can think right now that would prevent the examples from executing.

Hi Chris
Are you sure there is no other dialog open (e.g. the introduction screen) or any other script running? Can you run other scripts in DIAdem? Do you get a security message when you try to start the example "Example> Creating scripts> Using Interfaces > Controlling DIAdem with Ole? Can you execute this example after you accept the security message? Did you got any problems during the installation of DIAdem?

Thank you both for your prompt replies.
I have AVG 2011 Free edition installed. I have disabled it temporarily and there is no change.
There is no dialog open. I have not tried any scripts, as I'm new to DIAdem. I was hoping to learn from the examples!
When I try to start 'Controlling DIAdem with OLE' I get a different message popup: "Err no 429 ActiveX component can't create object", followed by another popup "An error has occurred in this example".
DIAdem installed fine: no errors or warnings. I performed a repair anyway just in case (prior to posting) but it didn't help.

Hi Chris,
It looks like a problem during the installation and registration of DIAdem. At the end of the installation DIAdem will be started once in the background. If this failed the OLE-Interfaces will not be registere correctly.
Please start DIAdem as Administrator once again to registered DIAdem again. When you close DIAdem and start it with user rights everything should work.
Hope this helps

Many thanks Winfried - spot on. Ran as Administrator and all now works fine. Normal user works as well now, as you predicted.
One happy customer 🙂
