Diadem idea exchange

Every once in a while I check the idea exchange for Diadem. I think that several of the ideas are good. The forum has been around a while including time spans when there was a new release of Diadem.

However, all of the ideas are marked as new. Why aren't some "in development"?

Does the development team give any consideration of the ideas? Even the decision that we won't do it would be appreciated.

Hello Jim,

Please rest assured that the DIAdem sales, marketing and especially the R&D team are monitoring the DIAdem ideas forum closely. Several of the ideas listed there have made it into DIAdem 2011 (you can check out the BETA version of 2011 at http://www.ni.com/beta) and several others are on the preliminary list for DIAdem 2012.

We may not be doing a great job on tagging these as "in development", but we are certainly paying close attention to the ideas and feedback from other users on specific ideas. Comments and "Kudos" given to ideas on that forum will help us to determine how many people are interested in a specific feature, so we encourage everyone to make use of both the "Kudos" and the comment function there.

Thank you for your feedback and for bringing this important development tool back into focus for our users as well as the NI DIAdem team.

Still no update. It is too early for Octoberfest. Jim

Hi Jim,

Thanks for all your suggestions on the DIAdem Idea Exchange.  Recently R&D officially reviewed the status of each submitted Idea and changed the status from New to the more appropriate state in numerous cases.  I wish we could make faster progress, because almost all the ideas have been fabulous.  R&D is pretty cautious about using anything other than "New" status because they don't want to communicate commitment to the Idea until they see it in an official project plan or research plan.

Brad,

I appreciate the update. I can understand the hesitation to commit to a feature but what is the point of having different statuses if you won't use them? If I look at the Labview ideas, some of them are declined and other statuses. It was just an observation. I think that you do a great job.

Jim
