Does the 9.0 Property "ChnValSet" support sending strings?

I'm using ChnValSet, but DIAdem doesn't like me sending in a string as the value parameter. I'm pretty sure the channel is configured properly, an an "ASCII" type.

This is also not working with the CHDX command, so there must be a bug somewhere.

Please use CHT(index,channelnumber) to set values in a text channel. Please refer to the online help for more details

CHD and CHDx can only be used for channel with numeric data.

I'm not scripting in DIAdem, I'm using an automation reference (To.Command and To.Data). Can you use CHT with those? Thanks.
