Hi,
I just had a user send me an error message stating "Your license does not include this function." while running a script where the error was from the ExtProgram call.
I can see that they do not have the script tab enabled, so have a lower level of license, but I don't believe that would affect their ability to run an outside application (I'm pretty sure the ExtProgram call is used throughout our scripts by users without a scripting license daily).
P.S. the user is running DIAdem 11.1
This is the second user that I've seen the message for recently, and I almost wonder if the users didn't get a real license and are running in "Evaluation" mode...would that affect it?
Any Ideas?

Hi Josh,
I just passed this question on to R&D, but in the mean time tell me what application your user was trying to launch with the ExtProgram() command and whether they had an activated license to run that application on their computer? Also, could you have the next victim send you a screen shot or grab the error description from the DIAdem log file?

Hi Josh,
R&D says that the DIAdem-Base version will run ExtProgram() just fine-- they tested it this morning to make sure. There is a version of DIAdem that only has data acquisition (only the panels DAC and VISUAL, nothing else) that will not run any VBScript, but I seriously doubt you've got any of those kicking around. The DIAdem Evaluation version unlocks all features of DIAdem Professional and the DIAdem CRASH Toolkit.
