That's almost working.

Now, with the eChannelDataTypeReal64 argument on "hDataObjChannelGetW" function, DIAdem creates 9 channels with name "nb", "nb1", "nb2" and so on.

Is it normal ?

Hello Frederic!

This is a general setting of DIAdem to only allow unique channel names. I have only a German DIAdem by the hand, the following menu captions my not by right! Have a look at the general settings dialog and there at the sub dialog channel settings. There should be a checkbox to define that a channel name have to be unique in a channelgroup.

I think that you misunderstand my problem. I call once the hDataObjChannelGetW() function with eChannelDataTypeReal64.

But DIAdem creates 9 channels. If I use the eChannelDataTypeNotDefined argument, the creation works fine.

Furthermore, is it possible to create a channel of type "String" from the GPI extension? I couldn't create with the hDataObjChannelGetW() function.
