How can I open a .tdms file with an errror during the measurement?

Hello,

I work with LabVIEW and DIAdem. In the LabVIEW I write all my measurements in a .tdms file on the intern network. If i stop the measurement the .tdms file close and I can open it in DIAdem and calculate all I need with my script. Last week I did a long time measurement and the intern Network had an error. So the LabVIEW didn't close the .tdms file like normal. There are 3 files on the Network:

.tdms / .tdms.log / .tdms_index

If I try to open the .tdms file there is an error. But I can see there are some data in the file (File Size). And if the LabVIEW close the .tdms file correctly there isn't any .tdms.log file. The question is, do I have the option to open my data in DIAdem and how I can do it?

Thanks for your answer. I can't upload the zip, there is an unexpected Error (see at the bottom).

For the future we change our system how we save our measuraments. We will save the measuraments first on the computer and load it after the measuraments in our network. So, i hope we haven't this problem again.

Is the error from when you were trying to zip the file or when you were trying to upload it to the website? I saw your marked this post as resolved and I wanted to confirm that it was.

If you failed to attach the file here, could you please upload it to the FTP server 'ftp://ftp.ni.com/incoming'. You should just open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to the site.

I just had to wait until i can upload it to the ftp, because it was blocked here. So, sorry for the waiting. Now the file is in the ftp and it's called Versuche Diadem.zip.

Kurt-P: The Error was when i was trying to upload. With the ftp it's working.

Can you please check the file and tell me if I have the option to open this files?

Hi,

First of all, the main file is OK but the index file is not. So, remove the index file then the TDMS file can be opened and read. The main file contians more than 2 million segments which contains many duplicated metadata. Using the TDMS defragment node in LabVIEW to defrag the file, the file size will shrink from 207MB to 14MB and it will accelerate the open operation. The attachment is the defragged and zipped file.
