Can you give more info here?  I assume you are asking what settings to use in the Digital filter dialog to approximate the Crash filter specs.

Your best choices are:

for CFC60  IIR, Butterworth, order 4, Force zero phase, Lowpass, Filter freq = 100 Hz

for CFC180  IIR, Butterworth, order 4, Force zero phase, Lowpass, Filter freq = 300 Hz

for CFC600  IIR, Butterworth, order 4, Force zero phase, Lowpass, Filter freq = 1000 Hz

for CFC1000  IIR, Butterworth, order 4, Force zero phase, Lowpass, Filter freq = 1650 Hz

Hope this answers your question.

Please have a look at page 134 of the attached PDF file, it gives some information about the CFC filter procedure.

How is it going SArm?

Thx for those CFC values. I am not a Diadem user and am currently using a pcie 6259 daq board for collecting data from accelerometers in crash test simulations.
I was wondering how can you setup a butterworth filter for a CFC 60 IIR with a force zero phase in labview 8.5. Help would be much appreciated.

Uhm, well....I am not a Labview user so I really don't know how to tell you what to do.  The CFC filters are a detailed on page 5-21 of the pdf document attached to one of the above replies.  It would be a pain to implement this, but if Labview does not allow you to force zero phase it may be your only choice.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I am trying to implement a CFC 1000 filter in LabVIEW 2009.

The Crash Safety Spec states:

3 dB limit frequency : 1650 Hz

Stop damping: -40 dB

Sampling Frequency: at least 10 khz

From this thread I got the following information:

for CFC1000  IIR, Butterworth, order 4, Force zero phase, Lowpass, Filter freq = 1650 Hz

How would I implement this? I am using a Digital IIR Filter, what would the filter parameters be?

Thanks,

Paul
