How to use Nicolet NRF TypeLibrary in autosequence

I have a type library that I wish to use to be able to load data from a Nicolet Odyssey NRF file. The VB example tells how to reference this type libary so that VB can access the functions. Can I do the same thing in Diadem Autosequences? I wish to load the NRF files directly into Diadem without exporting to ascii first.

Hi,

It is very unlikely that the library will help you import data into DIAdem, since DIAdem has it's own data management interface and doesn't use the VB interface to access data files.

If you have a description of the NRF file format and a few data files (for testing the filter), please upload them or send them to my email address:

otmar.foehner@ni.com

and I can look into how much effort it would be to create a file import DLL for DIAdem to access this data format.

Otmar,

I sent some nrf files from Nicolet to Brad to see if an enhancement to DAdem to import Nicolet files could be in the future. He may be able to shed some light on their format.

Hi, Otmar

Have you had a chance to work on the NRF file import DLL? Thanks.

Hi Ian,

DIAdem 9.1 is in Beta now, and one of the super cool new features is the ability to write your own Data Plugins in VBScript. We are also going to deliver several example Data Plugins with DIAdem 9.1, and one of these is the Nicolet NRF Data Plugin. So we'd love to test your Nicolet files to see how the current Beta Data Plugin works.

Please contact me at brad.turpin@ni.com in order to send me your files and/or get signed up for the Beta program.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Hello again,

I need to correct some mistakes in my above posting. The Beta DataPlugin for Nicolet NRF files was written in C++, and it will not be installed with DIAdem 9.1 or present on the DIAdem 9.1 CD. It will, however, be available for download at a new web site dedicated to DataPlugins at the time of the DIAdem 9.1 release later this year.

I also recently heard that there will be another DataPlugin for earlier Nicolet WFT files, which will be similarly available at the DataPlugin web site at the time of the DIAdem 9.1 launch.

For additional information on these or other DataPlugins, feel free to contact me at the above email address.
