Latest version of GPI & GPI API Reference

Hi,

I'd like to write user interface & file format extensions to Diadem 10.1 (and later). I assume GPI provides limited API for these purposes. Are there any other alternatives?

Well, if GPI is the only option, where can I find the latest version of GPI, GPI user guide or tutorial and GPI API reference? I only found something GDI related from NI ftp server, but it was from the year 2003.

Tom,

With regard to importing data, please have a look at www.ni.com/dataplugins. Dataplugins are simple, yet powerful script based import modules. DataPlugins work with DIAdem 9.1 or later. Perhaps you will even find a ready-to-use plugin on ni.com/dataplugins for your file format. Is it some kind of standard file format ?

We are using HDF5 1.8.0 fileformat and later on maybe proprietary database schema. I didn't find HDF5 from the dataplugins list. I'm not even certain if Diadem can support our data. We need multidimensonal datasets and group hierarchies deeper than what TDM can provide. That's why I wanted to take a look at the documentation.

Hi Tomi,

we are currenty evaluating the HDF5 file format and looking for ways to integrate it into our DataPlugin architecture. As you already mentioned the problem is the mapping of the complex HDF5 structure to the TDM model.

If you want to, you can help us with our development by providing some example files, so we can see if they fit into the things we are currently investingating.

You might want to send those files directly to me:

Thanks and greetings from cloudy and cold Aachen

Has the Diadem development community made any headway on working with HDMF5 files?  My company is looking at building all future data architectures around it...and following them looks like we'd walk away from Diadem???

Any news?

Hi Tomi,

please contact me directly at

stefan DOT romainczyk AT ni DOT com

I will send you the current version of the HDF5 DataPlugin.

If you can send example files, this would be helpful, too.

Stefan
