Licensed Options in a Network Installation

I have updated from Diadem 7 to 8. V7 had a license server running. How can I force V8 to check the installed licenses and options? Right now, several options are available when opening V7 and HL-Server shows no activity when starting up V8

There are two version 8 CDs, one for the license file installation and one for the license server installation. It seems like you are using the license file version.
