I want to access with Diadem 11.1 data stored on a Citadel 5 server, with the minimal software installed on the end machine.
The purpose is to perform data analysis on the data acquired by the DAQ on a centralizedCitadel server in our lab (possibly in read-only mode).
In several posts it is suggested to install the Lookout Development/Run-Time Systems 6.2 - Windows 2000/XP/Vista - Web Client.
However, this installs a whole set of components (e.g. SQL engine...), which we would prefer to avoid.
What is the minimum configuration for a machine which has no LabView installation?
Sincerely
Paolo Pierini

Hello Paolo,
there isn't a "deployment version" of DIAdem, so you need to install the full version of Diadem also on the end machine.
In DIAdem you can't create executables and even if your end machine runs say a LabVIEW executable (and so only needs the LabVIEW RunTime), if the LabVIEW code calls into DIAdem, that machine needs the full blown version of DIAdem.
Best regards,
Serena M.

Thanks for the info, but probably I was not very clear.
Indeed I want to install the full version of Diadem for the data retrieval and analysis.
However, the Diadem install alone does not allow me to connect to the Citadel 5 servers where the data is stored, and I had to install additionally
the Lookout Development/Run-Time Systems 6.2 - Windows 2000/XP/Vista - Web Client, as mentioned on some forum topics to be able to connect and retrieve the data.
I have the impression that this >150 MB installer installs many other things (including MSSQL), which I would like to limit.
So, besides Diadem, which is the minimal package to install to guarantee access to the citadel 5 servers? Do I indeed have to install Diadem and the above package on each and every machine that wants to pull data from our measurement server?
Thanks in advance
Paolo Pierini

Sorry for the misunderstanding;
as stated in the KnowledgeBase How to Retrieve Data from a Citadel Database with DIAdem, you should install the Citadel 5 Database Access Pack, that is included in the Lookout package.
I wasn't able to find the version for Diadem 11.1 but since the version for Diadem 10.0 is the newer released i think it should
