NoValue in Channel Smoothing

Solved!
Go to solution
Hi All,

I have some NV in my datasets. I want to plot (in DIAdem REPORT) those channels with NV after smoothing them thru DIAdem ANALYSIS or thru ChnSmooth(..) function. My question is: how DIAdem treats NV when NV falls in the smoothing window.

Hi Saurav,

All NoValues should be completely ignored in ANALYSIS routines.  In the case of smoothing, if there is 1 NoValue in a 25 point window, I would expect the other 24 points to be added together and this sum divided by 24.  I haven't verified this, but this is my understanding of what will happen.

Hello Saurav!

They are treated as Brad explained. From my point of view they are not ignored, the are handled. If all values in the smoothing window are NOVALUE the result is NOVALUE!
