Order spectrum function for fixed speed runs

Hello,

I wonder if there exists a function to calculate the order spectrum of an fixed speed run (similar to the order analysis) in DIAdem V9.1?

Hi Patrick,

There is a tool for DIAdem 9.1 that allows you to do order spectrum measurements. It is called Joint Time Frequency and Order Analysis Tool For DIAdem.
Here is a link to an introduction to the tool:
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3549#toc3
It can be downloaded here:

Please let me know if this answers your question.
Have a nice week-end!

Hi Joseph

Thank you for this example. I know how to program this function manually as it is done here. My question was more wether there exists an inbuilt ANALYSIS function like the order analysis. But thank you anyway.

Hi Patrick,

I wrote the Joint Time Frequency and Order Analysis (JTFOA) example, and yet I'm not sure what you're looking for.  You say that you want a built-in ANALYSIS function similar to Order analysis, and then you say that you want a constant speed order cut, by which I understand that you mean a 2D plot of Order Amplitude vs.time where each curve is a particular order (multiple of the instantaneous speed).  But then you say that you know how to program what the JTFOA example does, and you want something built-in in DIAdem.  But the one thing the JTFAOA example does NOT do is 2D order cuts of the type I think you're asking for!

I believe what you're looking for is the functionality in the ANALYSIS (Signal Analysis) dialog "Order Analysis in the Time Domain".  I don't have an example of using this function handy, and this was something I always wanted to put into the JTFAOA example but never got a round to, but I do have an example of the result of this analysis.  Please check the attached picture and let me know if this is indeed what you mean.

Hi Brad,

I had to programm all functions mentioned in VDI 3839. What I meant in special was the "Fig. 17: Order spectrum" shown on page 31 (2D, Amplitude vs. Order). It was no big deal to program it myself. But an inbuilt function would have been nice.
